Kahalani threatens to strike Lebanese infrastructure
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 2/24/1999

Israeli Minister of the Interior Avigdor Kahalani has threatened that the Israeli occupation forces will strike the infrastructure in Lebanon, especially the electricity grid network, in retaliation for the attacks of the Lebanese resistance.

In a statement to Israel Radio on Tuesday, Kahalani refused the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation army from the occupied part of south Lebanon or the implementation of UN resolution 425.

Kahalani's statements were made following the confrontation that took place on Tuesday at dawn between members of the Lebanese resistance and commando units from the Israeli Army in the occupied strip of south Lebanon.

The confrontation resulted in the death of three Israeli officers and another five were reported as wounded by the Israel Defense Forces.
