Morocco and Egypt to step up cooperation in agriculture

Morocco and Egypt have signed an accord meant to bolster cooperation between the two states in matters of agriculture and related sectors.

The accord provides for the exchange of agricultural data and expertise and the launching of joint research programs on plants and livestock protection, MAP reported.

The accord was drafted by the Moroccan-Egyptian Agriculture committee stemming from the high-cooperation commission.

The commission will meet next Spring in Morocco to look into ways of promoting partnership between the two countries in various sectors of common concern.

The Moroccan-Egyptian businessmen who met lately in Morocco said that trade exchanges between the two states can reach $ 200 Million in year 2000 against the current $ 30 Mln if incentive measures are taken.
