Morocco's socialist party attends meeting on democracy in India

Moroccan party "L'Union Socialiste Des Forces Populaires," whose leader, Adberrahmane Youssoufi is also Morocco's prime minister, attended last week a meeting of the World Alliance For Democracy in India.
The encounter, which was themed "Building an International Democratic Movement," was attended by 400 delegates representing political parties and human rights organizations from 85 countries.
The meeting reviewed ways of fostering coordination between the world parties to protect democracy from the upcoming globalization challenges of the 21st century.
Participants also reviewed the evolution of political parties and underlined the need to adapt democratic principles to the developing countries' socio-cultural specificities.
The Moroccan delegate to the encounter surveyed Morocco's political experience and efforts to enhance democratic process and promote human rights culture.
