El-Mahdi to visit Libya soon
Sudan-Libya, Politics, 2/23/1999
Sudanese opposition sources in Cairo said that former Sudanese prime minister and head of the Sudanese Ummah Party, El-Sadek El-Mahdi, is going to visit Libya at the end of the current month to hold talks with Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi.
The visit comes following talks in Tripoli between Khartoum and the Sudanese People's Liberation Movement. The sources added that Libya is mediating between the Sudanese government and opposition to resolve their disputes and secure the free return of the opposition.
The sources added that all Sudanese governmental and opposition parties have good relations with the Libyan president, which facilitates his meeting with Sudanese factions.
