Israel bombs the Lebanese towns of Majdal Zoun and Jib Sweid

The Israeli occupation forces on Monday shelled, using heavy artillery the outskirts of Majdal Zoun and Jib Sweid towns, close to the occupied part of south Lebanon.

Further reports from south Lebanon said that for the second time, Israeli warplanes raided the area located between Jibal al-Botoum and Zibqin towns in the Western sector.

Lebanese security sources said the Israeli jets fired air-to-surface missiles at the targeted area.

The Israeli warplanes flew over the central Bekaa district at low altitudes carrying out mock, provocative raids.

Meanwhile, Lebanese resistance forces on Monday launched two attacks against the Israeli occupation troops' positions in Balat area. In a statement, the resistance men said the two attacks were in retaliation for raids carried out by the Israeli jets against the surroundings of Zibqin, al-Butoum, Yater and Sheitieh town.

Meanwhile, The April Understanding Monitoring Committee on Monday held a meeting at the headquarters of UNIFIL in the Lebanese border town of al-Naqoura, in the presence of all its members. The committee discussed three Lebanese complaints lodged against Israel, especially Israel's annexation of the town of Arnoun to the occupied part of south Lebanon, preventing citizens from going in and out of the town, installing barbed wire around it and closing the main roads linking it to the liberated Lebanese areas.
