Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss said following his meeting yesterday with his Egyptian counterpart, Kamal El-Ganzouri, that the meeting reviewed the development of economic relations between the two states after the last agreement signed between them, topped by the free trade zone that will start being implemented in days.
He referred to the free trade zone agreement recently ratified by the Egyptian People's Assembly and the Lebanese Parliament as playing a big role in increasing the volume of commercial trade between the two countries.
He also referred to the importance of the private sector's role in both countries in increasing the volume of joint investments.
Egyptian economic sources said that it is expected following the implementation of the free trade zone agreement between the two states an increase in commercial exchange to reach $120 million after its current level of $60 million.
