Launching of Casablanca-Gaza flight will enhance Moroccan-Palestinian cooperation ties
Palestine-Morocco, Economics, 2/22/1999
The latest Launching of the Casablanca-Gaza flight will contribute to enhancing further cooperation ties between Morocco and sisterly Palestine in all sectors, said lately a senior executive of the Moroccan carrier "Royal Air Maroc" (RAM).
The weekly flights will also serve to rev up trade exchanges and economic parternship between the two countries, RAM executive said. Under an accord passed last November with the Palestinian civil Aviation authority, the Moroccan airliner launched last week its first flight to Gaza via Cairo.
The Moroccan "Office National des Airoports" (ONDA) supervised the building of the first Palestinian International Airport of Gaza which was dedicated last November 26.
The Moroccan ONDA also trained the Palestinian workers who are currently running the $ 250 Million airport. The opening of the airport was delayed for several years by Israel for security reasons.
