Iraq pledges to suspend media fighting with certain Arab states
Yemen-Iraq, Politics, 2/22/1999
A source close to the Yemeni Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that Iraq has pledged to halt media campaigns against certain Arab states.
AFP quoted the source as saying that Yemen has succeeded in convincing Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Saeed al-Sahaf, who recently visited Sanaa, to halt media campaigns against certain Arab states because such "campaigns do not serve Arab reconciliation efforts."
The Yemeni source added that the agreement comes in the course of preparations for the committee formed by the Arab foreign ministers in their January 24th meeting at Arab League headquarters in Cairo to move for lifting the embargo which has been imposed on Iraq since 1990.
