Al-Assad confers with Alexandria, all-Africa Patriarch

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Sunday received patriarch Butrous VII of Alexandria and all Africa for the Greek Orthodox Church and Patriarch Ignatius IV Hazim of Antioch and all the east for the Greek Orthodox Church.
Patriarch Butrous congratulated al-Assad on his election to a new constitutional term. The patriarch expressed appreciation of what he has seen in Syria of people's coexistence.
