Japan has donated Morocco $2 million to finance drinking water projects in the North African country.
The projects, to be supervised by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Moroccan water company (ONEP/state-owned), will supply drinking water to a 24,000 strong population in the Rif mountains, northern Morocco.
ONEP has recently received Japanese funds worth $140 million from the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF) for two drinking water supply projects in Oujda, eastern Morocco, and Safi, 350 km south of Rabat.
