Egyptian petroleum minister is due to Turkey soon

Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Hamdi El-Banbi is going to visit Turkey on February 25, at the invitation of Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ziya Aktas to discuss the exportation of Egyptian gas to Turkey.
During his recent visit to Turkey, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak examined the exportation of Egyptian gas, and the two countries endorsed a memorandum of understanding, during the Turkish minister of energy's visit to Egypt last summer to export gas from Port Said to Izmir.
El-Banbi said there is a suggestion to export gas to Turkey through a pipeline from Port Said passing through the Red Sea to Alexandrona, in southeastern Turkey, pointing out that they are going to discuss all the alternative methods of exporting gas to Turkey.
