Libyan leader meets Tunisian prime minister
Libya-Tunisia, Politics, 2/19/1999
Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi received Tunisian Prime Minister Hamed Karoui in Tripoli Thursday, after the Tunisian official took part in the two North African countries' joint commission.
The two countries released a joint statement expressing satisfaction with all measures adopted to consolidate Arab common action, mainly regarding trade, justice and conflict prevention.
The commission stressed that the success of the Euro-Mediterranean dialogue depends on the participation, on equal footing, of all countries of the region. Libya is presently excluded from the Euro-Mediterranean partnership process. Tunisia backs Libya's return to the process.
