Morocco and Sudan to convene joint commission meeting next week
Morocco-Sudan, Politics, 2/19/1999
Morocco and Sudan will convene the 4th session of their joint commission this February 20-23 in Khartoum.
The Moroccan delegation to the meeting, led by minister of trade, industry and handicraft, Alami Tazi, will include officials from various ministries and businessmen.
The meeting will be an opportunity for Moroccan and Sudanese economic operators to establish contacts and review economic and commercial cooperation and partnership prospects.
The minister will also chair Morocco's day at the international fair of Khartoum, held from February 17 through 28. The Moroccan stand comprises 46 industry and export companies.
Tazi is also scheduled to meet Sudanese president Omar Hassan El Bachir, speaker of the national assembly, Hassan Al Tourabi, and members of the Sudanese government.
In addition to reactivating agreements concluded between the two Arab countries during the Sudanese president's visit to Morocco last September, the visit will allow for striking other deals for the encouragement and promotion of investments, avoiding double taxation and other legal instruments to upgrade economic cooperation.
