French Foreign Minister to visit Doha next month

French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine will start an official visit to Qatar on March 6 during which he will sign political agreements between the two countries.

The French ambassador in Qatar said this visit will enhance cooperation between France and Qatar.

During the recent visit made by the French defense minister to Qatar, Doha and Paris signed a defense agreement that provided for France's commitment to defending Qatari security.

In the meantime, the two countries are trying to establish a joint council for French and Qatari businessmen, and the establishment of this council is expected to be announced during the visit of the French foreign minister or the visit of the Qatar's crown prince to Paris in June.
