Saudi FM rules out resorting to arbitration with Yemen
Yemen-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 2/19/1999
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal has ruled out that Saudi Arabia and Yemen will resort in order to settle their border disputes to arbitration, "Due to or complete conviction the deep relations and fraternal ties between our two countries and due to the determination and the political leadership of the two countries', this issue will be settled and a final settlement will be reached concerning them."
The Saudi FM added that the "negotiations on demarcation of borders and works of the joint committee between Yemen and Saudi Arabia have achieved good strides."
Replying to a question on the latest developments concerning border negotiations between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, following the visit of Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdul Qader Bajmal and the conclusion of the meetings of the Saudi-Yemeni committee to define borders, which concluded its 13th session several days ago in Najran, al-Faisal said that this issue needs more time and relentless efforts, but the two sides are keen to reach satisfactory solutions for the two negotiating sides.
