Children vaccines absent from Moroccan market, says professional

Essential children vaccines are not found in the Moroccan market since last December and this shortage worries parents and complicates the work of pediatricians, said president of the Moroccan pediatrics society.

MAP reported that in a statement he sent to it, the pediatrician rang the alarm and said no official explanation was given to this situation or when the vaccines will be available again.

The pediatrician said the shortage actually reveals a very dangerous situation: the existence of one laboratory licensed to market the vital vaccines.

Although the vaccines are available at the state health centers, around 10 % of children (an annual 60,000) receive their immunization at the private sector, he added.
