El-Mahdi criticizes El-Turabi's statements regarding Egyptian relations
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 2/18/1999

Former Sudanese Prime Minister El-Sadek El-Mahdi, chief of the Sudanese opposition Ummah Party, stated that the perception by some Sudanese politicians like Parliament Speaker Hassan El-Turabi of Sudanese - Egyptian relations is "narrow" and does not fulfill the joint interest of the people in the two countries.

He said it is also a calamity in the political thinking of those who adopt it in the coming stage of globalization.

El-Mahdi said some political personalities in Sudan want to return to the past, referring to statements made recently by El-Turabi, in which El-Mahdi said the Sudanese official tried to spoil relations between the two peoples of the Nile valley.
