Ethiopian warplanes bombard Harsala city in Eritrea

A spokesman for the Ethiopian government said on Wednesday that Ethiopian planes have bombarded for the second time Eritrea's city of Harsala on Tuesday.

AFP quoted the spokesman as saying that Ethiopian planes Maige 23 carried out a raid on Harsala and then the Eritrea's army attacked with heavy artillery the Ethiopian front of Bourbeh. The spokesman added that in retaliation the Ethiopian army bombarded the city for the second time.

The spokesman added that weapons, ammunition, heavy artillery, foodstuffs warehouses and water reservoirs were destroyed in the city of Harasla, located to the west of Eritrea' s port of Asab. The spokesman added that the Eritreans also lost many of their soldiers but gave no more details.
