Egyptian president confers with British trade minister

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday received British Minister of State for Trade and Industry Brian Wilson, currently visiting Egypt to take part in the Middle East energy conference, which convened on Tuesday and will last for three days.

Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament, Ahmed Fathi Serour attended the meeting.

Cairo is hosting from Tuesday until Thursday the Middle East energy conference, which will discuss electricity grid projects, the possibility of enrolling new countries in this project and accelerating efforts to link the united Arab grid to the European electricity grid.

The conference will also discuss future challenges involving energy and the tremendous potential of the Middle East countries in the area of renewable energy and means of investing it.
