Kuwait receives Moroccan economic delegation

The Moroccan delegation which started last week a Gulf tour is currently in Kuwait where it held talks with several kuwaiti officials and economic operators on means to enhance bilateral cooperation.

Head of the delegation, Minister of Economy and Finance, Fathallah Oualalou, was received on Monday by the Kuwaiti ruler, Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Oualalou who is leading a 68-member Moroccan delegation, comprising managers of public and private enterprises and ministerial departments officials, also conferred with Kuwait's crown prince and prime minister, sheikh Saad Al-Abdallah Salem Al-Sabah, as well as with kuwaiti minister of finance and communication, Sheikh Ali Salem Alaali Al-Sabah.

Talks covered the various aspects of bilateral cooperation and investment opportunities offered by Morocco. The activities of the Kuwaiti fund for economic development and of the Moroccan-Kuwaiti development group were also discussed.

At a similar meeting with the Kuwaiti minister of trade, the two sides discussed means of upgrading trade exchanges through tax exemptions and the setting up of a joint businessmen council. The possibility to reactivate the air links between the two states to promote tourism was equally examined.

The Moroccan delegation also held meetings with executives of the Kuwaiti stock exchange and of the Kuwaiti chamber of commerce and industry and visited the free trade area in Kuwait.
