Egypt, Germany express concern over stalemated peace process
Egypt, Politics, 2/15/1999

Egypt and Germany have expressed their deep concern over the stalemate in the Middle East peace process. German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer, whose country is presiding over the rotating presidency of the EU, said, "We and Egypt are very concerned over the deadlock in the Middle East peace process."

Following his talks on Sunday in Cairo with his Egyptian counterpart, Amr Moussa, Fischer added, "We are working with the international community, the Palestinians, the Israelis and American friends to revive the Middle East peace process and to reach a comprehensive and final peace."

The German minister added that it is very early to talks about the results of the peace process.

For his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa stressed Egypt's readiness to contribute to giving the Middle East peace process a push forward as well as Palestinian - Israeli negotiations. "Egypt is exerting its utmost in this respect," Moussa commented.
