Arab members of Israeli Knesset will visit Damascus
Syria-Israel, Politics, 2/13/1999
Member of the Israeli Knesset Abdul Malim Dehamshe said on Friday that a delegation of Arab members of the Israeli Knesset will visit Syria within the coming weeks.
Al-Arabs daily issued in the occupied Arab territories quoted Dehamshe as saying that the Syrian leadership backs the formation of an Arab list (in elections) for the Arab masses in order to take part in future Israeli elections.
Dehamshe, who met with President Hafez al-Assad in Amman during King Hussein's funeral, said, "Unity is an objective which is hailed by all, including the Syrian leadership, which, in its turn supports uniting Arab ranks and launching the elections in a united Arab list."
