Morocco is part of the 53 countries that France has integrated in the "priority solidarity zone" for 1999 that will receive priority in France's assistance in development.
This assistance will amount to 47 billion French francs and will benefit besides Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania, Lebanon and Palestine, in addition to 40 African francophone countries, 3 countries from Southeast Asia, 5 countries in the Caribbean and 1 country from the Pacific.
This priority solidarity zone policy was launched a year ago, as part of France's new international cooperation that targets cultural, scientific and technical development.
