Palestinian higher education minister underlines difficulties in setting up universities
Palestine-Morocco, Education, 2/12/1999
Palestinian Higher Education Minister Moundir Salah underlined the difficulties met by Palestinians in setting up universities in the autonomous zones.
At a meeting held recently in Rabat with the Moroccan premier, the Palestinian official, who arrived early this week in Morocco on a several-day working visit, stressed the importance granted by the Palestinian Authority to modernizing the higher education sector and affirmed that Palestine wishes to benefit from Morocco's experiences in the field.
To enhance cooperation between the two countries in academic studies and scientific research, an accord will be concluded shortly to foster contacts between Moroccan and Palestinian universities.
The accord will also provide for the exchange of experience in university management and visits between Moroccan and Palestinian university teachers and the launching of joint academic programs.
