Germany voices readiness to swap Moroccan debts into investments

Speaker of the German Bundestag, Thierse Woldfgang, who started Wednesday a three-day visit to Morocco, expressed Germany's readiness to swap Moroccan debt into investments.
The German official who held Thursday a work session with Moroccan prime minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, also expressed his country's support to the reforms process carried out in Morocco.
He also deemed it necessary that the United Nations Organization has to find a solution to the Sahara issue in order to end tension in the region.
The Moroccan prime minister insisted on the importance of ensuring stability in the north African region and said he is convinced that the Germans understand Morocco's attachment to the kingdom's territorial integrity.
Youssoufi also stressed the importance of the projected Euro-Mediterranean conference to be held in Stuttgart next April.
On Wednesday, the German official met with Moroccan peer, Adelouahed Radi, presidents of parliamentary groups, minister in charge of the government general affairs, Ahmed Lahlimi. He also conferred on Thursday with human rights minister, Ahmed Aujjar.
The Moroccan-German talks covered bilateral relations, Morocco's efforts to develop its economy, alleviate indebtedness and improve the social status of population.
Morocco announced its participation in the Hanover fair.
The German official who is visiting Morocco, part of an African tour that will first lead him to Mali is also discussing with Moroccan officials prospects of peace in the Middle East region.
In Casablanca, Thierse will visit the King Abdelaziz Foundation, an institution of Islamic studies and research and will confer with Moroccan Islamic theologians on means to promote dialogue and co-existence between different religions and cultures.
The German official is also expected to meet with a group of Moroccan Islamic theologians on inter-religious and inter-culture dialogue and communication channels needed to reach co-existence between different cultures and religions.
