Algerian president to specify final date for presidential elections today

Algerian official sources announced today that Algerian President Liamine Zeroual will deliver a speech tonight in which he will formally announce the date of the presidential elections in April.

The sources stated that Zeroual will renew his confirmation that Algeria will hold an honest election, as he will adhere to his pledge and commitment to provide the conditions for these elections.

His speech coincides with the arrival of the head of the International Court of Justice in the Hague, Mohammed Begawri, to the Algerian capital to assume the chairmanship of the independent committee for supervising the elections.
