Iraq to ask Turkey to stop US forces from using airbase
Iraq-Turkey-USA, Politics, 2/12/1999
Iraq announced on Thursday that it will continue confrontations in the two no-fly zones imposed by the US and Britain, regardless of the results.
Iraqi Deputy Premier Tariq Aziz told Journalists in Baghdad on Thursday that his country will continue confrontation for these two areas regardless of sacrifices and results. He described the two no-fly zones as constituting a flagrant aggression against Iraq and international law.
Aziz added that Iraq will ask Turkey to end the authorization which permits the US and British troops to use the Turkish Incirlik Air Base in the Southern East of Turkey. The base is used by US jets that fly and lately engage in fighting over northern Iraq.
