Loan from World Bank to Lebanon worth $600 million

Official sources in the World Bank said yesterday that the international bank has offered to Lebanon a new loan worth $600 million through three years in equal terms for social projects and others concerned with the infrastructure.
The sources added that one third of this loan means $200 million could be specified for restructure of economic or financial sector.
The sources said that the loan was offered to Lebanon during the visit of a delegation chaired by the deputy chief of the World Bank for Middle East and North Africa, Kamal Dermish, to Lebanon.
The delegation left Beirut on Tuesday heading for Paris.
