Lebanese president meets with al-Hoss to address Saudi Arabia visit
Lebanon-Saudi Arabia, Politics, 2/10/1999

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud met on Tuesday with Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss following the PM's arrival in Beirut after a visit to Saudi Arabia.

Al-Hoss said he discussed with high-ranking Saudi officials issues of mutual concern, especially the situation in south Lebanon, Lebanon's position concerning the Israeli occupation, and Lebanon's commitment to UN resolution 425, which provides for Israel's unconditional withdrawal from south Lebanon.

The Lebanese Premier said that he received all "positive responses and sympathy" from the Saudi officials with Lebanon and the unity of the Syrian and Lebanese tracks in the peace talks.

Al-Hoss' talks also dealt with means of strengthening and consolidating bilateral relations in all areas.

He added that, "I availed myself of the opportunity of being in Saudi Arabia to invite Arab businessmen and investors to invest in Lebanon."
