New Jordanian government expected very soon
Jordan, Politics, 2/10/1999

Well-informed Jordanian sources expected that King Abdullah, of Jordan will within the two coming weeks assign one of the prominent political figures who used to be close to his father, to assemble a new Cabinet.

The new government, the sources said, will be able to implement an ambitious political program on the internal and external levels, in accordance to the wish of the late King.

These Jordanian well-informed sources expected Zeid al-Refai; Mudar Badran, Abdul Karim al-Kabareiti, Prince Zeid Bin Shaker, who are all former prime ministers, to be candidates to form the new Cabinet.

The sources indicated that this change will be in compliance with the constitution, as it is stipulated in the Jordanian constitution that "any government formed under a previous king has to submit its resignation when a new king assumes his constitutional duties."
