Moroccan MP delegation ends visit to Japan
Morocco-Japan, Politics, 2/8/1999

Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Abdelouahed Radi returned home over the weekend after a several-day working visit to Japan where he had intensive talks with Japanese officials on ways of boosting partnership between the two countries in all sectors.

Radi and his accompanying delegation met mainly with Emperor Akihito, with the prime minister and with the chiefs of major political parties.

Talks focused on cooperation prospects between the two countries' legislative bodies, the evolution of trade exchange, investment and the assistance needed by Morocco to sustain its socioeconomic development process.

The Moroccan delegation informed the Japanese officials on latest developments of the Sahara issue, the incentives granted to foreign investors and underlined Morocco's efforts to promote human rights and democracy and to build up a strong economy capable of standing to the upcoming globalization challenges.
