Egypt exempts Moroccan diplomats from entry visa
Egypt-Morocco, Economics, 2/8/1999
Egypt has decided to exempt Moroccans holding diplomatic, special or mission passports from entry visa requirements.
The Egyptian ambassador to Morocco, who made the announcement over the weekend, said the move is in line with the accords concluded between the two Arab states during their high cooperation commission meeting, which convened last may in Cairo.
Moroccan and Egyptian businessmen, who met last week in Morocco, called for lifting obstacles hampering the development of trade exchanges and partnership between the two countries.
They called for suppression of visa requirements, the consolidation of maritime and air links and coordination between Moroccan and Egyptian bourses and banks. Through these measures, they said, the volume of trade exchange between the two countries can reach $200 million by year 2000 against the current $30 million.
