Lebanon to lodge more complaints against Israeli aggressions
Lebanon, Politics, 2/8/1999

Lebanese Premier and Foreign Minister Salim al-Hoss said that Lebanon will lodge a complaint to the April Understanding Monitoring Committee on the Israeli attacks during the two past days against south Lebanon and the western Bekaa.

In a pre-departure statement at Beirut airport before heading to Saudi Arabia, al-Hoss added that he made contacts with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in order to ask the UN to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Israeli attacks.

He indicated that the situation in south Lebanon will be discussed in his talks with the Saudi officials. In reference to statements made by US Undersecretary of State Martin Indyk, in which Indyk held Lebanon responsible for the existence of the occupation forces in the south Lebanon and its western Bekaa, al-Hoss said that such statements treat the aggressor and the oppressed equally.

Al-Hoss added that his talks in Saudi Arabia will also deal with the possibility of maintaining Saudi investments in Lebanon.
