Angela King, the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Gender Issues and Advancement of Women, said that Algeria had realized progress in areas such as health, education and human rights since signing the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women two years ago, but still needs to make progress in social stereotypes and the revision of the Family Code.
