European Investment Bank's loans to Morocco totalled 182.7 mln euros in 1998

The European Investment Bank "EIB" lent Morocco 182.7 million euros in 1998, the Bank's executives told reporters Thursday in Brussels. Nearly half of the loans were destined to rural and renewable energy projects while the other sums were allocated to infrastructure, water and environment projects. They also aimed to help Moroccan enterprises modernize management and enhance competitiveness to meet globalization challenges.
