Bush said Likud made problems during Madrid conference

Former US President George Bush has asserted that the Israeli Likud party had created problems during the Madrid Conference, especially Benjamin Netanyahu who was then the Israeli assistant foreign minister. President Bush expressed in an interview with the French daily Le Figaro his conviction that the forthcoming Israeli elections will be important. "I hope the Israeli electors will wonder how progress can be made in the peace process." He underlined the importance of the Madrid Conference.
