Russia denies Ocalan returned back to Moscow
Regional, Politics, 2/4/1999
The Russian Foreign Ministry denied on Wednesday news reports which said that the leader of the Kurdish Workers Party, Abdullah Ocalan, had returned to Russia asking asylum.
A spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry described the news, announced by the secretary of the Turkish Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, of Ocalan's presence in Russia as mere rumors. The Russian spokesman added that the Turkish media "publishes incorrect information every day."
