UAE-French joint military exercises
United Arab Emirates-France, Military, 2/4/1999
The joint military exercise "Gulf Watch" started on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi between the air forces of the United Arab Emirates and France.
An official source in the UAE said this military exercise comes as a reflection of solid relations linking the two countries. It also falls in the course of coordination and cooperation between the UAE armed forces and the French armed forces.
Such coordination and cooperation, the UAE official added, has witnessed tangible progress during the joint exercises of the two countries's armed forces with the objective of raising their fighting capacity and tactical expertise.
The "Gulf Watch" exercise includes several stages during which every stage is studied separately to conclude results and find relevant practical applications.
French early warning system planes are taking part in the exercise.
