AL chief to visit Khartoum this month

An official source in the Arab League said on Tuesday that AL Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid will conduct an official visit to Sudan on February 17, his first visit to this Arab country in eight years, at the invitation of Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael.

Abdul Meguid's visit to Khartoum comes in the context of an Arab tour which will also include Kuwait. On Tuesday, Abdul Meguid met with the Sudanese ambassador to Egypt and the Arab League, Ahmad Abdul Halim, and discussed arrangements for the visit.
