Iraq appoints new ambassadors
Iraq-UN, Politics, 2/3/1999
The second man in the Iraqi mission at the UN, Saeed al-Musawi, was appointed as Iraq's permanent representative to the UN, replacing Nizar Hamdoun who ended his term of office, which he started five years ago, and returned recently to Baghdad. The Iraqi daily al-Itihad reported on Tuesday that the Iraqi Foreign Ministry also appointed Fadel al-Shaher as new ambassador for Iraq to Oman and Fakhri al-Duleimi as ambassador to Qatar in the context of the vast diplomatic changes the Iraqi government announced in November 1998.
