FAO Chief Visits Morocco

Director General of the Rome-based United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, Jacques Diouf, arrived Sunday in Morocco to give a new momentum to cooperation between the two sides in agriculture, environment protection, farmers training and related sectors.
In an arrival statement, the FAO chief hailed the sound cooperation ties binding two sides and praised the kingdom's efforts to enhance the performance of agriculture, modernize its structures and upgrade the output to ensure food self-sufficiency.
He also said that he will visit the FAO-sponsored projects and will identify the assistance needed by the Kingdom to develop its agricultural sector. (MAP)AZ
