Kuwaiti foreign minister to visit Moscow

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad will visit Moscow at the beginning of this month. In a statement to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am, Sheikh al-Ahmad said he will discuss with Russian officials bilateral relations and means of developing them as well as developments in the region and the Iraq crisis.

Within this context, the Kuwaiti daily quoted a Russian diplomat as saying that the visit of Sheikh al-Ahmad to Moscow will be a chance to acquaint Kuwaiti officials with details of the "Russian initiative" to revitalize the work of the UN inspection team in Iraq and conditions behind submitting such an initiative.

Sheikh al-Ahmad's European tour will also include France, and Germany after his visit to Russia.
