Morocco to host UN women's fund's Maghreb branch

The United Nations Fund for Women's Development has chosen Morocco to host the office of its gender advisor for Maghreban countries.
The office will technically assist the representative and coordinator of the U.N. system in Morocco for the implementation of the Beijing platform (World Women's Conference), coordinate action between government departments intervening in women's and gender issues and cover the Maghreb region.
Morocco was chosen to host the branch in view of its rich experience in the field of women's integration in development, the Moroccan social development and solidarity department said in a release.
