Iraqi delegation visits Cairo secretly
Egypt-Iraq, Politics, 1/30/1999

An Iraqi delegation arrived in Cairo yesterday that comprises the deputy chairman of the national council (parliament), Ghanem Aziz Hazouri, and the council member Saad Kassem Homoudi. The delegation secretly met with the head of the Egyptian People's Assembly, Fathi Serour.

Hazouri said he conveyed a written message from the head of Iraqi National Council, Saedoun Hamadi, and delivered a copy of the council's resolutions issued in its exceptional session on Wednesday.

They discussed ways of rapid implementation of the resolution of the Arab Parliamentary Union held on December 27, 1998 that condemned the US - British attacks on Iraq.

He added that he asked Serour to support Iraq at the meeting of the International Parliamentary Union by adding an item on the agenda of the meeting that will be held in April in Brussels that includes demanding the lifting of the embargo off Iraq.
