Sharon criticizes the European Union

Israeli Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon has criticized the statement recently issued by the European Union's foreign ministers which held Israel responsible for halting the implementation of the Wye River agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
Israel Radio said on Friday that Sharon expressed Israel's objection to the statement and asked at the same time the Palestinian Authority to abide by its obligations towards Israel.
