Mubarak to arrive in Turkey today
Egypt-Turkey, Politics, 1/29/1999

The Turkish (semi-official) news agency Anatolia has reported that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will visit Turkey to hold talks with Turkish President Suleiman Demirel.

The Turkish news agency added that Mubarak will head for Turkey before he travels to Davos, Switzerland to attend the annual international economic forum there.

The agency quoted the office of Demirel as saying in a statement that, "President Mubarak will meet with President Demirel and will discuss the latest developments in the region."

The agency indicated that the two Presidents talked on the telephone on Thursday. Earlier Mubarak mediated in settling the disputes between Turkey and Syria over accusations addressed by Ankara to Damascus in supporting the Kurdistani Workers Party (PKK).
