Syrian cement company's profits for 1998 at 8.4 million Syrian pounds

The Syrian general cement establishment and its affiliated companies' profits in the first half of 1998 were estimated at 8.4 million Syrian pounds. The establishment's sources said that clinker production developed at 35.8% and reached 4.177 million tonnes in 1997 after it was 3 million tonnes on 1991.
The sources added that cement production for the first half of the year developed at a rate of 39.6 %., noting that it reached 4.5 million tonnes against the set production capacity of 5.057 million tonnes.
