Morocco and Iran study ways to enhance cultural cooperation
Morocco-Iran, Politics, 1/28/1999

Ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in cultural fields topped talks held here on Wednesday between Moroccan culture minister, Mohamed Al-Achaari, and visiting Iranian peer Mustapha Muain.

The two men stressed the key role that the culture sector plays in cementing the ranks of the Islamic Ummah (Nation) and fostering dialogue between civilizations.

The Iranian minister, who arrived Tuesday in Morocco, already conferred with Prime Minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, education minister, Ismail Alaoui, higher education, training and scientific research minister, Najib Zerouali, and secondary and technical education minister, Abdellah Saaf.

Talks reviewed relations between Rabat and Teheran and means to promote cooperation in university-related matters.

Morocco and Iran concluded last year a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in university and scientific fields.
