The Moslems minorities conference is due in Paris
Regional-European Union, Religion, 1/28/1999

A conference on "Islamic existence within European legislation" is to be held in Paris on February 26, in which the Moslem populations in different European countries are going to take part in discussions on the problems they faced within the framework of European law.

The conference, set up by the public federation of French Moslems, intends to cooperate with a following-up committee formed in Paris during last September, which includes some intellectuals, to specify a perception for how to amend the current laws to meet the situations of Islamic colonies in the countries of the European Union.

Meanwhile, the conference is to release a work paper under the name of "European Islamic minorities" that will be submitted to the European parliament and government to help the European authorities examine the situation of Islamic citizens in relation to European legislation.
