Kuwait intends to renew military agreements with international forces
Kuwait, Politics, 1/28/1999

Kuwaiti official sources announced that Kuwait intends to renew the defense and security agreements with the countries which contributed to its liberation of the Iraqi occupation in 1991.

The source justified this by saying, "The Iraqi danger still exists for Kuwait and it could threaten at any moment" and he stressed that these countries had "proven their friendship to Kuwait and supported it in its crisis."

Kuwaiti Defense Minister Sheikh Salem al-Sabah indicated during last November before visiting Washington that his country does not mind renewing the security agreements with the US.
